Meet the team
‘All Saints is an exciting church to belong to’ – words of our Vicar, Rev’d Patrick Bateman who leads a team of Christians committed to serving God and our community.
Rev'd Patrick Bateman - Vicar
Although born in the North East I have spent most of my life, from my teens, living and working in London and the South East. I left school and went straight into the City, worked for eighteen years in the International Petroleum Exchange as an Oil futures Trader. It was during this time that I became a committed Christian and had to develop my faith within a highly competitive and sometimes aggressive environment. I was Ordained in 2001 and served first in Southwark Diocese before becoming Vicar of All Saints’ in December 2012. I am married to Alison and we have four children.
All Saints’ is an exciting church to belong to with a vision to grow and be a greater blessing to our community and beyond. I am passionate about us finding natural ways to connect with people that sees God transform more lives.
Rev'd. Steve Proudlove - Curate
Hi! I’m Steve Proudlove, curate at All Saints’. I was ordained in June 2014 having previously worked as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry. I’m married to Elaine and have two children, Samuel and Phoebe. I’m a keen sportsperson and love playing football, walking and climbing. People often ask me why I gave up my job to become a member of the clergy, and it’s a long story. For me, my career change is the result of nagging feelings about what would bring fulfilment in life and a sense of using well the gifts God gives all of us.
Hi, I am Lawrence – (children & youth)- married to Jemma and a dad of three children – Hope aged 4 and Joy and Judah our twins born in February 2015.
I love running in the hills, Bradford City and trying to grow vegetables on our allotment.
My childhood dream was always to be a part of a big and stable, happy family, in 2007 that dream was close to ruins. I attended an Alpha course at All Saints church and welcomed Jesus Christ into my life. Since then God has worked in my life in deep and profound ways. – I am work in progress but excited about the future.
Rev'd Dick Watson
Hi, I’m Dick, Associate Minister within the All Saints Team, seeking to welcome more people into the fellowship of Christ’s Church , and to share the Love of God with all who feel called to join in the adventure of faith. Life-group leader, and pastoral visitor with a passion for knowing Christ better, and making Him better known. Still learning , still striving, and still discovering more of God’s amazing grace year on year!
Rev'd Pat Reid
Pat Reid, Associate Minister. Career as a maths teacher, then also as Deputy Head of a Secondary School, in Huddersfield. Retirement allowed me to follow up interests: painting, reading, and to keep the mind working, a degree in Victorian Studies. The Lord however had plans! The then vicar challenged me to explore a path to ordination: an exciting journey, a wonderful and certain calling, and a great privilege to serve God at All Saints Church. Great to experience his enabling, and be used by God, presenting the Good News and trying to encourage others on their Christian journey.
Alice Carr - Parish Administrator
Hi, I’m Alice! (Parish Administrator) I am married and have two boys. I first came to All Saints in 2014 when I brought my eldest son to Joining-the-Dots. I was overwhelmed by the care and love emanating from this Church. As a family, we decided to attend the Sunday services and since then my life has been transformed. I was keen to explore my faith and to find the answers to some of life’s biggest questions, so I decided to do the Alpha course. For me, this experience marked the beginning of my Christian journey and It was here that I came to be a follower of Jesus. God called me to take on the role of Parish Administrator and I have loved being able to grow in faith as well as developing this role.
Michael - Verger
I work to ensure everything within church is fit for purpose.
This includes cleaning to a high standard, church and all the buildings in a methodical and routine so to facilitate the work of All Saints Ilkley.
My work is varied I carry out maintenance and small repairs when they arise and the testing, upkeep, and recording of fire alarms & emergency torches. My duties include the grounds external maintenance & in winter months I ensure the paths are cleared of snow and ice.
I open up Church on Sunday mornings ready for the 8am service at which I operate the sound desk.
I enjoy my verger role for weddings and funerals, and other events.
